A client had a Statutory Demand to personally serve upon a debtor. The client noted that the debtor had identified himself as vulnerable in terms of mental health. A local agent was sourced and briefed on the delicacy of the situation, and the first visit was made within 48 hours. The agent met with the subject’s wife, confirmed residence, and a contact card was left. The debtor called the agent, stated he was working in London and promised to call again when he returned home. Unfortunately, no contact was made within 72 hours, so the agent sent aLetter of Appointment for the following week. The debtor did not attend, so the Demand was sub served via inserting it into the letterbox in a properly sealed and addressed envelope. A Statement of Service was prepared for the client.
